Dr Martin Hodson is a plant scientist and environmental biologist, and a former Principal Lecturer, and now Visiting Researcher at Oxford Brookes University. He is also Associate Member of the Institute of Human Sciences at the University of Oxford and Operations Director for the John Ray Initiative. Martin was the tour scientist for the Hope for Planet Earth tours, and writes and speaks widely on environmental issues. He has over 100 publications, mostly in international science journals. His recent books are Cherishing the Earth (with Margot Hodson, 2008), Functional Biology of Plants (with John Bryant, 2012), The Ethics of Climatic Scepticism (with Margot Hodson, 2015), A Christian Guide to Environmental Issues (with Margot Hodson, 2015) and An Introduction to Environmental Ethics (with Margot Hodson, 2017). Rev. Philip Wagstaff is a Methodist minister who has worked in four rural circuits in Norfolk, North East Essex, Devon and Somerset for many years. He is currently (from 1st March 2016) superintendent minister in the South Petherton and Crewkerne Methodist Circuit (Senior Tutor of the Certificate).
Rev. Dr. John Reader is Rector of the Ironstone Benefice (8 rural churches in North Oxfordshire) having served most of his ordained ministry in rural parishes. He is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow with the William Temple Foundation where he is involved with the Religious Futures Network, responding to the theological questions raised by the global financial crisis. A Practical Theologian, his recent books are A Philosophy of Christian Materialism (co-written with Chris Baker and Tom James, Ashgate 2015) and Theology and New Materialism: Spaces of Faithful Dissent (Palgrave Macmillan 2017). Rob Hitchcock (BA Hons) is a retired quality management consultant with extensive experience in the public and private sectors. He has worked in several government departments and the NHS in areas of policy, quality assurance and operations. In the private sector his clients have included insurance, utilities and IT consultancies. He is a member of the Chartered Quality Institute. Rob is a CRES graduate, and his dissertation addressed the factors behind successful environmental campaigns. He is an associate of JRI and supporter of WWF. He has recently spoken at a local bible college on the subject of Christians and the environment.
